I went to New York. I went to IKEA

During the last week of August, we took a little road trip to upstate New York and then New York City. Ah, New York City. Bright Lights, Big City. So many things to do. So many places to go. So many shops to browse. So much art to take in. With only 3 1/2 days there, we needed to be focused and diligent. There was no time for dilly-dallying. So on the first morning we were there, we went to IKEA. Yes, IKEA. Really!

You see, this past June a new IKEA opened in Brooklyn. In order to encourage Manhattan-based customers to head there instead of the Jersey location, IKEA has commissioned a free NY Water Taxi route from South Street Seaport (Pier 11) to IKEA and back. Turns out it passes the same touristy destinations - Statue of Liberty, the New York City Waterfalls, New York Skyline - as some of the paying Circle Line tours. How could we refuse? A free harbour cruise + an order of IKEA's famous hot dogs and cinnamon buns! Life just doesn't get any better...
